  • PRINT ST. PETE Community Letterpress 4903 8th Avenue South Gulfport, FL, 33707 United States (map)

In this Paper Marbling workshop on Sunday October 8th (1 pm - 4pm) at PRINT ST. PETE Community Letterpress, local artist, Megan Bailey Eli, will explain the science and art behind Suminagashi, the Japanese technique of marbling paper. She will begin with a demonstration of the process for small and large pieces. Each student will then have the opportunity to create his or her own piece as the instructor circulates around the room, allowing the students to work individually with her. This workshop provides knowledge about a unique artistic process, gives the students a therapeutic experience working with the medium, and results in at least one frameable piece that each participant can take home. In addition, students will be able to check out the letterpress studio, learn more info about other workshops & studio rental opportunities, and purchase original letterpress goods.

Cost is $60/person. All materials included.
Pre-registration & payment are required for this event. Space is limited. To register visit: printstpete.org/register.

It quickly turned into a passion, and Megan began selling her artwork, which also includes geometric watercolor paintings, collages, and illustrations, with the St. Pete Indie Market and Tampa Indie Flea in a homemade teepee. She will continue to promote education, the arts, and literature within her community.
