Join us at Print St. Pete Community Letterpress for a Suminagashi paper marbling workshop on Sunday Apr. 8th with local designer and illustrator, Kaileen Schleith!
Suminagashi, which translates to "ink-floating", is an ancient Japanese technique of floating ink on water to create marbleized textures. After an image is created on the water, the image is "printed" onto a piece of rice paper by laying it on the surface of the water. You can either create mesmerizing concentric circles or psychedelic swirling textures. In this 2-hour workshop, you’ll learn the basics of Suminagashi paper marbling using sumi ink, rice paper, brushes and a water tray. Limited seating.
$45 - all supplies included. Pre-registration and payment are required to reserve your seat.
